About
Pastor Brad Wells
Brad Wells was born in Los Angeles and raised in Idaho, where his faith journey began under the guidance of his missionary parents, Dennis and Dee Wells. Inspired by their calling, he embraced a life dedicated to Christian ministry.

In 1998, Brad and Deborah Wells, along with their two children, left their home in Boise, Idaho, to serve as missionaries in the remote jungles of Papua New Guinea (PNG). Their mission was multifaceted, focusing on both spiritual outreach and community development. After many years of dedicated service in PNG, the Wells family transitioned to the United States, where Brad founded GraceWay Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.

Brad’s ministry is characterized by his commitment to biblical teaching, evangelism, and leadership development. His journey, from the jungles of Papua New Guinea to the hall of Congress, reflects a life devoted to faith, perseverance, and service.

Missions in
Papua New Guinea
For seventeen years, the Wells family immersed themselves in the local culture of PNG, building relationships with the indigenous communities and serving as God led. God blessed the Wells family to start several churches and other ministry endeavors such as a local Bible college, kids and youth camps, and a health clinic.

One of their significant achievements in PNG was the establishment of the country's first Christian radio station. This effort aimed to broadcast the message of Christianity across the nation, reaching areas that were otherwise inaccessible due to challenging terrains and limited infrastructure. The radio station became a vital tool for evangelism and education, providing spiritual guidance and support to many listeners.

Raising seven children in such a remote setting required adaptability and resilience. The Wells children participated in the mission work, contributing to both the family's efforts and their personal growth. This unique upbringing provided them with a profound understanding of service, faith, and cultural diversity.

GraceWay Baptist Church
After their time in Papua New Guinea, Brad Wells and his family transitioned to ministry in the United States, specifically in the nation’s capital. For the past ten years, Brad has served as the pastor of GraceWay Baptist Church, located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

GraceWay Baptist Church was founded with the vision of reaching the heart of the nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Under Brad’s leadership, the church has grown into a thriving congregation dedicated to preaching the Word of God, discipling believers, and engaging with the local community, which includes Congress.

Serving in Washington, D.C. presents unique opportunities to minister to political leaders, government employees, and local residents. Brad has been instrumental in fostering a strong faith community that encourages believers to live out their convictions boldly while also providing a spiritual refuge in the heart of the capital.

GraceWay Baptist Church actively engages in outreach programs, community events, and mission efforts both locally and globally. Brad has emphasized personal discipleship, strong biblical teaching, and evangelism as core pillars of the church’s ministry.
